And you don't see the correlation between Bowl tickets sales and a fanbase that doesn't stay past halftime if its not a Top 5 match up? If fans don't stick around in their own stadium, the chances of them buying tickets and traveling during the New Year's holidays for a non Top 5 match up aren't that good. Plus, outside of the Cotton Bowl in 2010, LSU has struggled to sell its allotment to non-BCS bowls in the last 10 years.

Hmmmm. And how many presales did LSU take for the Cotton Bowl this year? I asked for 4 of those 20K, but I ain't going to the frickin chickin bowl. Appears many others feel the same way.

And IMO, there is little correlation between how many leave early and how many would go to a bowl. Many of the ones leaving early are the blue hairs and others that only go to say they went. It's a social status thing. They will definitely be at a good bowl game so they can crow about going at the next Junior League meeting.
