You people are crazy. She can sing but she's not on the pedastal some of you are putting her on. Just because britney spears and la Reid react like there's gold coming out of her mouth doesn't make it true.

If you didnt see the youtube clips of Jonatan and Charlotte from Britians Got Talent this year, his voice is incredible. Better than Paul Potts. Hes not great, but there was a guy on Australia's Got Talent...i can't remember what they call him, but hes an amazing song writter and plays some killer guitar.

Watched a few clips and I agree with this. Don't get me wrong, she has a beautiful voice and is very precocious in her vocal abilities, but Jackie Evancho and a similarly aged Charlotte Church and LeAnn Rimes are/were much better. Let's wait until the young lady grows up a bit, goes through puberty, and gets to add her own touch to the music she sings. Both Church and Rimes went kind of nuts when they grew up.

in what way? if you are talking vocal talent you are more delusional than the gumps
It is not delusional to say that one of the best selling singers and performers of all time is better than a 13 year old on X factor. I'm in no way saying that she isn't good though. But she has a loooong way to go.

pump your breaks dude. Everyone in this thread needs to pump their breaks hard. She is a good singer, but no where near at all a GOAT.

Carley Rose Sonenclar disagrees.
Well, I hadn't heard of her so I youtubed. Yes, she's a good singer, but I suspect that if that same voice were coming out of an adult she wouldn't be considered anything special. I youtubed her singing Adele's "Rolling in the Deep". Adele is a great singer. Close your eyes and listen to the two versions. Only one passes the greatness test. I also youtubed "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"... it cracks and doesn't flow well. Over time and with practice and training she might become one of the greats... who knows... but I agree with the earlier poster who said Leann Rimes was better.

Celine's original song and voice is vastly superior More importantly calling her a GOAT insults the hell out of these people, just to name a few: Aretha Franklin - Respect The Supremes (Diana Ross) Jefferson Airplane (Grace Slick) She is a good singer on a reality show filled with shitty singers and she is way over-hyped.

When I talk GOAT I'm talking Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Barbara Streisand.... I just haven't seen any contestants on those shows who can touch those people.

This. All of this. ETA: In my other post i was just doing female singers. If we are including male singers, do not leave out the temptations.

I don't personally like Celine Dion as she seems a bit too convinced of her own greatness, but she's an incredible singer.

Celine Dion is Canadian, but seriously, if you are basing your opinion of American singers off 3 reality shows, I feel for you.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Katharine McPhee is better. She now plays on a TV show called Smash. To be great you have to sing great songs. Not everybody gets the chance to be the original singers of great songs because they either can't write them or no one happens to write one for them.

She's a good singer but her version of Rolling in the Deep was terrible compared to some of the other songs she's done.
