The SEC is so laughably Bama heavy in terms of bias and is actively trying to bump LSU from the Cotton Bowl. We get hosed next year on the Florida/Georgia gauntlet while Bama gets UK/TN. Dont we deserve better?

Discuss.

ETA - i'm not suggesting I favor one or the other here - just want to see the point discussed.

Supposedly the big 12 is the same way with Texas. I would expect our recruiting to hurt some. Don't know if we would win battles over Bama and aTm for some key players in our state.

Texas is the Bama of the Big 12--with 10x the money. No thanks.

In the SEC there is the perception that Bama gets preferential treatment. In the SEC for the most part things are run equitably.
TX owns the Big 12. Tx does get preferential treatment because Tx runs the Big 12. Revenue is split disproportionately and TX gets the lions share. Why do you think aTm left?

If we went by ourselves, it would be strange, but we'd have to bring some partners with us. Some powerful enough to balance Texas and force them to start equal revenue sharing. The old Southwest conference originally wanted to add LSU and Ole Miss to avoid being stuck in Texas for every school except Arkansas. The Big XII has been interested in Florida State for a while, they'd work as a partner. I think that if LSU, A&M, Arkansas, and Florida State went to the Big XII, they plus Oklahoma would probably be enough to bully Texas into making the conference model closer to the SEC. I don't think that it would hurt our recruiting in Louisiana and it would definitely give us a boost in Texas. If Florida State came in, then we wouldn't lose anything in Florida (replace rival Florida with new rival Florida State).

For the record, I am NOT advocating a move. This is all purely hypothetical, for the sake of an interesting discussion. No way anyone leaves the SEC nor should they.

The big 12 is terrible and I would probably lose interest playing in that conference of cupcakes. What are we Vanderbilt? Come on dude. If we would have beaten Alabama like we should have, we would have went to Atlanta and controlled our own destiny.

The Big XII is so inferior, not just in team strength, but in game atmosphere. Leaving the SEC for it would be borderline insanity.

I'd love for LSU to switch conferences. I'm tired of the SEC bullshite. LSU/Ark and tamu should all join the big twelve. frick the SEC

No thanks. The SEC is the best conference in just about every major sport minus basketball.

We just have to put up with Bama's fix in football. Outside of that, we have more than a fair shot in baseball and basketball.

Don't allow Bama's corruption over one sport ruin your day. LSU has a 12 month sports calendar, and it will only improve as our Men's bball program improves, which is happening. A lot of schools can't say that.

Miles has already mastered bluffing leaving for another school so he can share his techniques with our admin and we can let someone leak that we are talking to the Big 12 about a deal.

Part of the negotiation to keep LSU in the SEC could be to do away with the uneven cross-division scheduling as well as other things.
