Here are some points I've picked up:

* Texas Boosters do NOT want matchup with TAMU in the Cotton, because a loss would better the final humiliation - no Cotton for TAMU

* next biggest stage for Johnny Football is the Capital oNE, so there the Aggies shall play. Reason: No SEC team (including LSU) adds national viewers as much as the potential Heisman winner - its all about ratings there

* the Sugar would be fine for both UGA and UF, but UF will be in top 4 and thus a mandatory pick.

As per the Cotton, there are valid pros and cons for both LSU and UGA. Here's where the SEC may be a bit biased and pick the Bulldogs. But in the end, picking Bulldogs in the Cotton may backfire in the SEC revenue coffers.

My thinking is, Jerryworld will take a revenue hit with UGA over LSU. First, UGA fans will probably see the Cotton as a consolation for not getting the Sugar, and LSU fans see the Cotton as THE PRIZE. Texas fans will buy their allotment if LSU is in the Cotton because LSU fans will buy those UT tickets because LA and TEXAS are more natural rivals. Jerry knows this from past experience. He knows LSU is cash money for him, especially concessions. Not quite so sure with UGA. Either way UGA or LSU, the game itself will probably not reel in a bunch of national viewers, mostly because of lousy Texas. Prediction: LSU-Texas=sellout, UGA-Texas=empty seats, it's all about the geography, more LSU fans in TX than UGA.

If we end up in the Chicken Bowl, the SEC will take a huge revenue hit if LSU ends up there. My prediction is that LSU fans will show their displeasure by not going and that game won't be a sellout either. But even worse for the Chicken would be USCe-Clemson II.

Frankly, when you look at it objectively, the SEC is in a pickle no matter how you cut it. The only solution would be for TAMU to play in the Chicken Bowl. Which wouldn't be a bad matchup, but no Johnny Football national exposure.

The up side of playing Clemson for LSU in the Chicken Bowl is that area is a fertile recruiting ground for LSU, so if there's a small silver lining, that would be it. Take care of Clemson, and hope that those GA and Carolinas recruits are watching and take note.....

Wrong.

Capitol 1 gets the first pick. I would be shocked if they don't take A&M (Heisman contender, national publicity, etc)

Sugar has UF, only one loss.

So, if Cap. 1 takes A&M, that leaves us for either the Outback (who, as a rule, takes the 2nd best team in the East), the Gator Bowl is in there too (I'd guess that they'd take Moo State), then the Cotton, more than likely us, followed by the Chick Fil A. ( I think I'm correct with how the bowls pick. I do know Cap 1 picks first)

I know about the whole rematch stuff with USCe/Clemson in the Chick Fil A, so maybe those bowls that tend to favor the SEC east teams would reverse my guesses.

Not saying I'm some guru, just my guesses.

I'm sure Jerry has some input, but the decision to select teams is up to the Cotton Bowl not Jerry Jones.

The Cotton Bowl Committee makes the selection, not Slive. I doubt they care what Slive thinks, they care about making money, which means people buying tickets.
