Duck-hunting juvenile shot in head
December 01, 2012
1 COMMENTS
A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head and injured early Saturday in a duck-hunting accident in Livonia, the Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office said.

The boy, whose name was not released, suffered a non-life threatening head injury from a 12-gauge shotgun, Capt. Steve Juge said.

The teenager was one of three boys in a boat in Grosse Tete Bayou, Juge said. One of the other hunters, also 15, swung to shoot at a duck but shot the victim instead, Juge said.

The injured boy was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Regional Center, Juge said.

How is that possible? I'm hoping for the best.

When we were that age we were adamant about not bird/duck hunting with anyone we weren't sure was competent with a gun. Sad.
