Yes, they do. It's called the media. Of course I can't point this out though or else I'm "whining".

Yes, you are whining - there's more conservative media than ever in modern history. Quit being a victim of the MSM.

More people don't care if people get abortions (within reasonable limits), don't care if gay people get married and believe in a reasonable immigration reform....something the Reps don't offer. Just general civil liberties.

I'm suggesting the GOP is very complicit in our debt

Yes you did. As a way of excusing the fact that Obama has run up $6 trillion in debt in four years. You reply is "Well Republicans had one house of congress for two of his four years"

quote:

Being smart is very fundamental to this discussion because it provides an explanation as to why you can't get over on me

You are full of shite. That's what I'm saying and you think you can just say anything you want on here and it'll pass.

You are the one who full of shite. Especially if you think you're some sort of judge and jury to the rest of the board here in determining what does or doesn't pass.

But if you're going to continue to act like an a-hole to me then there is no reason for me to keep replying to you. Your choice.

Rick Santorum? really GOP? this man won primaries.

That is ridiculous. This man is exactly why independent voters laugh at and avoid voting GOP.

How is your average center left/right young, open minded and intelligent person suppose to take the party seriously with morons like him?

Because Presidents don't run up the debt by themselves. If I was dumb, I'd believe you

I am and I'm right

I'm not here to agree with you about anything. if you want to be a dickhole and spew manure all over this place, that's up to you. Don't get mad when someone calls you on it.

When Rick Perry, the governor of TX, is lambasted for being "soft on immigration" you know the party has gone off the rails of the crazy train.

Why not? When have the Democrats ever had any good ideas?

record number of regulations hurting jobs

record number on food stamps

obamacare raising premiums

obamacare gutting welfare reform

Obamacare adding to unemployment and forcing employers to cut hours

unconstitutional HHS mandates

blocking the keystone pipeline

Less drlling permits, leases and acreage on federal land than the last POTUS

and on and on and on

all great things!

Yeah, so we're all even and the Dems are winning....get over the social shite and you'll get the fiscal folks:

quote:

I think that Silver is onto something when he concludes his article with this observation:

Perhaps a different type of Republican candidate, one whose views on social policy were more in line with the tolerant and multicultural values of the Bay Area, and the youthful cultures of the leading companies here, could gather more support among information technology professionals.

Ron Paul, the libertarian-leaning Republican, raised about $42,000 from Google employees, considerably more than Mr. Romney did.

Well, yes. In fact, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has correctly warned that the GOP "risks extinction" unless it becomes more libertarian.

Quit blaming the loss on nonsense.

well, see here is why you are failing to see why the GOP does need the change.

you're using the terms environmentalists, unions, feminists as pejoratives.

When in fact, if the GOP would embrace and invest in sustainable clean energy, they'd be better off. But instead, they're doubling down on ignorance and hoping the mouthbreathers keep showing up at the voting booths.

There are voters out there who would listen to a good GOP message, but the GOP apparently has no interest in reeling them in

Talk about projection. You're the one who is acting like a dickhole here. You are the one who is trying to make things personal here.

And no, I'm not mad. Even though you seem to be trying your best to make me so.

if they came out and just said,

"we DGAF about pot, we dont care who consenting adults want to marry, we respect a woman's right to control her body, we believe in a separation of church and state"

"we want a strong free market where winners are rewarded and losers dont get bailed out"

but instead the narrative is, "what is a legit rape???"

Because they are. If they aren't to you it's because you're either complaint or complacent to them.

So we should just "invest" in more Solyndra's?

Wanting more production in energy sectors that are already proven instead of rainbows and unicorns makes a person a mouthbreather?

You said you didn't understand my argument/point of view and I suggested that an explanation for that was that you were not smart.

Sorry, but the conservative movement is going to be less and less powerful as the years go by. Demographics are changing and baby boomers who resent government so much for the 60's legislation are dying. Less and less people believe in the GOP and what it advocates after we've seen it in action for 30 years. We have major programs that only government can solve and the conservative movement isn't about solving problems, it's about resisting the civil rights movement.

You did not suggest it you stated it as a matter of fact. All I'm saying to you is don't insult me if you want me to reply to you.

You really believe that don't you? Only government can solve are problems and the only reason conservatives don't want the government to solve our problems is because they are racist?

Pretty much.

It's because the GOP voters know that blacks want something in return for their vote and they can't be having that.

re: How the GOP could rebrand itself

quote:

I strongly disagree with this notion that Baloo put forward that Republicans are too negative

to be clear, I don't mean this in the sense that the GOP runs too many attack ads or anything. When I say they are too negative, I mean in their vision of America. You see it on this board a lot, people are harping on how we are about to collapse and be plunged into this utter disaster we cannot recover from. It is an inherently negative message. I reject anyone who thinks Americans are afraid of hard work or cannot see how truly amazing the times we live in are.

This triggered from a conversation I was having with Pimp. We live in the future right now. It is truly amazing how great life in America in 2012 is. Things like the internet and the technological revolution were unimaginable 25 years ago and have completely changed our lives, mainly for the better. We are immersed in knowledge and connectivity, and we have come closer to achieving a true colorblind society than anyone has in the history of the world.

We should be shouting this from the rooftops. Sure, there are issues. There are always issues. But this is an amazing country and these are amazing times. We need to focus on our accomplishments and where we go from here instead of worrying about this potential nightmare future. I'm unafraid of the future. I think its going to be great.
