my grandpa once went to some place where they sell these trees and it said holiday trees for sale and he went up to the person and asked where are your Christmas Trees, I don't remember the response. all this Holiday tree stuff is just stupid though.
what you call you tree is up to you, just don't go sue the government or something if they put a Christmas tree up in a government building but don't sue if they put up that same tree and call it a holiday tree.

not that it's relevant, but it is interesting to note that massachusetts had a tax-funded state religious institution until 1833. a court case in 1820 found that the tax-payers had as much say in hiring clergymen as actual church members, and the Mass. Congregational Church became overran with "liberal" Unitarian ministers. The orthodox split and sided with the other religious dissenters to finally separate Massachusetts tax money from religion.
I suppose this was allowed so long as it was a state's issue and not a federal issue. not quite the "perfect separation between the ecclesiastical and civil matters" that Madison and others were talking about.
