I had the reverse happen. Was in Tensas back in the early years when does tags led to a scene out of the old land rush movie scenes.

Was one bottom over from a guy, I shot a doe early. Sitting in my tree, asleep, gun unloaded. Hear a shot his way, a few minutes later I hear another shot. Then a line of deer come thru, the back doe had both front legs shot and was walking on half legs. I chambered a round and shot her.

My Dad comes along mid morning, we get together and backtrack the blood trail to the bottom, find hair and bone and there is this guy. We ask him if he shot a doe, he says yeah.....but I missed! We explain we now have three deer for two folks and that he really did hit it and it is just a couple hundred yards over and show him the bone and shite right in front of us. He says, nope, missed and turns and walks off. My dad had shot a buck, it was cold, so we hang one of my does up in a tree to keep coyotes off. Came back and got it on Sunday. Game warden looked at me like I was crazy bringing a deer out that had been hanging up in a tree all night, all stiff and stretched out.

I came clean and told him the story, he didn't give me a hard time.

Thats cool. Def a few good wardens out there. They just always seem to be with a prick when I run into them

Foot and Alx let me pretend like I shot some of the ducks they killed, just so they don't go over their limit.
