Exactly. Which is why a worldwide ban of it is completely unnecessary..
They have completely botched the handling of the ball and the driver, so they are panicking now. The USGA is a joke

The ban was completely unnecessary. Anchored putter players weren't dominating anything, but all of a sudden a couple of guys who weren't great putters are able to be competitive again, so it became an issue for what are probably a handful of players.
If the USGA wants to 'level the playing field,' it should come out with one approved set of clubs and see to it that all PGA Tour players use them. Same with balls. Play the USGA clubs and balls or go home.
