Starting my own business...so many questions

Ok so I have about 3-4 products I have been working(thinking) on for sometime. I'm planning to start my own business for the purpose of manufacturing my inventions, marketing and selling them to retailers.
Does anyone have any tips for writing a business plan or any online templates that help? Software? I wrote one in college but that was nearly 10 years ago.
Also, what is the best/cost effective way to go about A) Searching for a patent and B) Applying for a patent?

Business Plan Pro......bro
I used it to start mine in 2005 and have been rolling ever since. Plus, the program gets you thinking about things that you otherwise wouldn't have considered.
Starting a business encompasses far more than the "buying/selling" aspect. You'll have to think of costs, how to price your product and primarily, who to market it toward.
Best of luck in your journey.

Thanks I will check that out. I'm using LivePlan right now. It's a cloud based program that had good reviews, but I don't think it's going in-depth enough.
