As coach at Youngstown (Ohio) State in the mid-1990s, he claimed not to know that his star quarterback had received a car and more than $10,000 from a school trustee and his associates -- even though it was later established in court documents that Tressel had told the player to go see the trustee. In 2003, during Tressel's third season in Columbus, Buckeyes running back Maurice Clarett was found to have received money and other benefits. Even though Tressel said he spent more time with Clarett than with any other player, he also said he did not know that Clarett had been violating the rules. A year later an internal Ohio State investigation (later corroborated by the NCAA) found that quarterback Troy Smith had taken $500 from a booster. It was the second time the booster had been investigated for allegedly providing improper benefits to a star player, but again Tressel said he had no knowledge of the illicit payment.

Seriously, we have THE MOST RETARDED fan base in football

One of the Harbaugh brothers. Jim or John is gonna leave the NFL where they are both wildly succesful and come to LSU

If I didn't love LSU so much I would love for Miles to leave just so these jackass fans get what they deserve

Denzel Washington. He did a good job building unity in Remember the Titans. Plus, he's pretty much self-funded as it is; salary probably wouldn't be a big issue.

Nothing in your posts even concluded that he did know those payments had been received?

$500 to troy smith? Really? If you don't think $100 handshakes still don't happen in college football on a regular basis, you are quite naive.

. He evolved. It's what good coaches do. Still too conservative sometimes though.

Charlie Strong would still be better as he has been recruiting in south awhile and pulled Louisville out of depths into a solid program

This. IF Les were to leave the short list should look something like

Strong Patterson Gundy Rich Rod.

One 2 loss season in the craptastic big east does not get him shortlisted for a powerhouse SEC job, imho

If you think the Harbaugh brothers or Sean Payton are legit possibilities then you're a fricking idiot.

Body of work son. Coordinating powerhouse defenses in the SEC for a decade+resurrecting a Louisville program left for dead gets you shortlisted for a powerhouse SEC job.

Agree to disagree based on lack of HC experience.

Also, never call me son again.
