Those that said it's personal and none of our business are correct. It had nothing to do with football.

Those ragging on him for his play, especially the Florida game and suggesting that is why he left, i hope you get a bad rash all over your certainly very small private parts.

People can say the kid wasn't very good, because he wasn't very good. He played like dog shite against UF and in the national title game. I can say that and still hope for the best for the kid. I didn't say I hope he is in trouble and not getting his personal issues fixed in any way. He just wasn't a very good football player and thats ok. I didn't even begin to speculate as to why he left the team, I have absolutely no clue and neither do you. But he came to LSU and was a Tiger so I wish nothing but the best for the kid. So get off your high horse.

His play in the NCG is fair game, I agree he played poorly and I also agree Alexander played better. However, that had nothing to do with his leaving, suggesting it did is based on ignorance he left for personal reasons, no reason to bash the kid for his play.

There is a difference between legit criticism and gratitous bashing.

Is Williford out now for "personal reasons"? I know he had a concussion against UF, but that was 7 weeks ago. What are the odds that 2 starters from opening week who both not be playing by mid season due to personal reasons?

wel it might have something to do with the fact that our line has been playing much better with the package in place now than any other combination attempted all season. no sense in messing with something that seems to be working

I think he was going to get rightly benched and didn't care for it.

Jizzamo is dead on. Had absolutely nothing to do with football or Miles. Made the best choice for him. He made a choice that a lot of lesser people would not. Wish him the best.

Wrong, he got into it with stud and quit.

How's this for a clear answer:

Alex Hurst was a Tiger who played his arse off for the team, the fans, and his own goals. His career here finished early, too early, due to reasons which are none of your and my damn business.

I think you hit on why people want to know what happened (not necessarily in detail). They want to know if what you are stating is true. There has been plenty of rumor that is counter to what you are saying.

I have no idea what the actual reason was. And, nobody has offered an explanation that answers that question.

What happened was extremely unusual. I think it is very reasonable that people question it. You just don't see starters leaving a program in the middle of the year with no explanation. And, with no explanation, it's not unreasonable that people aren't willing to give the kid the benefit of the doubt.

If it were a situation out of his control, I'd like enough information (the details aren't important) to come out so that Hurst isn't unfairly characterized for things he couldn't control. Heck, a simple press release by Hurst saying nothing specific about his situation but expressing regret for being unable to finish his career...all while offering his support for his teammates would have gone a long, long way. None of that has happened. People literally don't know if he quit on his team or if he's dying (two polar opposites).

Who?
Exactly what did he say? When did he say it?

I bet I have a better source of information. My wife's hairdresser's brother-in-law's sister's teen aged son's girl friends' dad's barber told me you are full of crapola.

If it isn't ok to name the source, it isn't ok to spread a rumor.
