@KyleTucker_CJ: Per a source inside UK athletics, Butch Jones, Sonny Dykes and Mark Stoops have all said "no thanks" to Kentucky.

Kentucky is where coaching careers go to die.

@KyleTucker_CJ: Mike MacIntyre and one other unnamed coach still on UK's radar, per source.

And the AD thought they were somehow above Petrino?

Cincinnati, Louisiana Tech and DC at Florida State are all more desirable than the head coaching job at Kentucky. Ouch.

LSU not getting Mitch Barnhart looks really good right now.

This one has to really sting

I'd feel worse for them if they didn't have basketball. I thought Jones would do a good job there.

Kentucky may want to think about a gimmick type coach..Its obvious you cant win there doing thing in any normal manner, so why not? A June Jones run and shoot type or a Paul Johnson flexbone type..Jeff Monken of Georgia Southern is a guy they should think about..Runs the Flexbone and has decent defenses and alot of wins at the FCS level..

They could probably get him pretty easily right now

Would be surprised to see him accept the kentucky job, if he does, before the Arkansas job is filled as Jerry Jones is pretty high on him and he is a back up back up option on our list.

Nope, Tucker is full of shite. Got this from a "suppose" agent out in the west coast.

Stoops and MacIntyre are very much in play. Would not shock me if MacIntyre is not announced within 48 hours....if not, then it will be Stoops.

MacIntyre is being urged by Bill Parcells to take the job. Parcells and our AD are friends.

Thought there was an ESPN article stating SEC schools made agreement, Petrino WOULD NEVER coach in the SEC again.

What he's done in a short time at SJSU is impressive. People are taking notice I'm sure. But how long can you hope to maintain success at SJSU? If I'm him, I wouldn't be jumping for joy at Kentucky but I'd hope somebody more attractive came calling soon.

I'd be pretty surprised if they make agreements like this. If they do then NCAA ADs are weaker and dumber than I thought.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the 48 hours part, Kentucky at this point will wait on you and you can wait for the more desirable jobs you are in the running for to be filled.
