you do what is best for you and yours..

But..integrity and right has to come in somewhere or Karma will bite you in the arse.

You don't throw out other teams who have also worked their butts off because you think you could lose your division, which is what he is working toward. He didn't fool anybody!

Let's be honest, there are plenty of delusional LSU fans as well. Several worship Miles as if he were infallible. No names are needed.

Let me add that I don't think Saban is anything more than a good football coach. I'm not worried about his "good name" and shite like that because he wasn't hired to be a nice guy. He wins fricking ballgames. College football is a business and it is win or get the frick out.

Saban has done a bunch of good with the Nicks Kids thing and has rebuilt a bunch of houses in Tuscaloosa after the storm. Good for him. None of that will mean shite if he isn't winning.

Gene Chizik, by all accounts, was a fantastic guy. He cared about people and was nice. That didn't stop the door from slamming on his arse...and anyone who is a fan of a SEC school who doesn't think the same thing would happen to their "nice guy" coach is full of shite.

The fact that you have to come to the Rant to defend him tells us everything we need to know about you.

Personally I think his hypocrisy is funny but not gonna make me mad. In 50 years when college football is settled with a playoff, everyone will look back at the so-called "BCS Championships" with the same degree of skepticism that we currently look at AP championships.

I'm in agreement with you here. CFB coaches aren't paid millions of dollars to be role models or insightful moralists. They are paid to win champiionships.

Three things are clear: (1) Saban's statement makes him a hypocrite; (2) His hypocrisy is clearly born of a selfish desire to see an outcome which benefits him and the school he currently coaches; and (3) No one gives a sh*t about his hypocrisy except for a bunch of transparently envious LSU fans who are still mad that Saban allegedly scorned them.

What I can't stand is the certainty that, if the situations were reversed, all of the same posters here would be defending Saban, because he would be LSU's coach.

Notice only one stupid GUMP responds. Those people are a MESS. They live in their own little world. What a bunch of DICKS....including their coach. I respected Saban but he is now a total JERK.

Only Bama should be allowed to go to a BCS bowl without having to earn it.

How did they NOT earn a BCS bowl bid???? Should they have been in the NC game??? NO, But they earned a bcs bowl bid. Just like FLA did ths year. And yes what Saban has said is wrong on his part, OR is he scared that Bama may LOSE to UGA and end up in Orlando.

Tiger Rant =/= civil debate. You are a contrarian, a devil's advocate, and will take the opposing viewpoint just for fun.

People will forever be pissed about the mulligan you guys got in last years' game, and he just poured a crawfish pot full of salt in that wound...trying to defend his statement now and argue it's legitimacy is pointless and stupid.

I wish someone would kick Nick Saban's arse. What a fricking a-hole. Why any kid would play for that hypocritical POS, I can't explain ?

I surmise that a-hole is probably committing all kinds of NCAA violations and cheating on his wife again. Yeah, he has won Crystal balls. That isn't doing him any good when he dies.

I am glad we have a coach in Les. The man is loyal and a great father to the kids he recruits. I guess life will even out in the end.

To be fair he was the same way at LSU and I have talked to players that played for him and they LOVE the guy.

Well Dukke, I hear you. Maybe I am someone who did not have it mentally to be an All-American athlete. I certainly have no physical talent. To me, Saban's BS process crap would get old after about a week or two. But hey, the man gets the HS All-Americans. He's got something that these kids gravitate towards, other than NC's. Cause, he wasn't winning Championships at Michigan State and he never went undefeated at LSU. I guess Alabama and Bear Bryant still sells itself.

If Alabama beats Georgia, might as well kiss Notre Dame's arse goodbye.

Alum is actually in that .001% of level-headed Alabama fans. He's the last one on this board you need to explain this shite to. Go to the SEC rant and see all the toothless fricks scream "butthurt" in defense of Saban's comments.

LOL. What are you talking about? Saban recruited extremely well at LSU. For example, he had the number one overall class in 2001, which ultimately yielded the 2003 championship. Recruits gravitate towards Saban because he has an NFL pedigree, he wins championships, he is worshipped by the media, he's articulate and charming in person, and - most importantly - he continually generates first round draft picks. BAsically, he sells himself to recuits as the coach who will help them fulfill their potential and prepare them for a life in professional football.

Bama has no inherent recruiting advantage over LSU.
