Another example of why CFB is a farce.

"Brand" programs don't like it when other teams are granted the same "rights/privledges" they get.

Only Bama should be allowed to go to a BCS bowl without having to earn it.

Saban is lucky he didn't have to play UF's schedule. Bama would have lost two, maybe three games.

And why is he even talking about Florida? Shouldn't he be worrying about UGA?

This can't be accurate.

It has to be a misinterpretation.

Equivalent to his "getting back to Tiger Stadium" comment a few weeks ago.

Who has ever liked the double jeopardy of playing in the SECCG? If LSU was in the same position, ie lose and end up with 2 losses, and finds itself out of a BCS game being supplanted by a team that squeeked by them due to the loss in the SECCG the fans would be in an uproar. The dude is only speaking the truth. It could happen to UGA and they beat UF in the Swamp, too.

No, he's saying UGA should go to a BCS game after losing the SECCG instead of Florida.

HO LEE shite.

You gotta love the predictable Bama idiotic responses...

quote:

well if you listened to the entire conference sunday you would hear him say it would be a fair decision. you may also wanna know that saban has for years been trying to get 3 schools from the sec included in the upper bcs bowls and that came as a result of a few years ago when u conn garnered a bcs fiesta bowl berth by winning their 3rd rate conference and the sec having 4 teams in the top 9 at the time. so look at the entire picture here. last years scenario is not even close to what we have here. bama was 3 in the nation and leap frogged an okie state team that had just lost to a 40 point underdog. had the scenarios been in place that the big 10 and others proposed later lsu and bama would still have been in the title game.

as a tider i can say if bama loses saturday which i feel they will……..i would love to have them in orlando.
will take the family up for that one.

@ tire biter, yes, we would, but we weren't the ones that got into the BCSNCG last year after NOT winning the Division, SABAN was.
How freakin difficult is it to see his hypocrisy??????

And NO, Georgia did not win in the Swamp. They play that game EVERY YEAR in Jacksonville. Hello?

Besides the obvious backing in to title game last year depite 2cd in SEC West - it is also ironic Bama backs in as well this year thanks to Florida. Bamas 2 SEC East games Tenn & Missouri. LSU and Texas A&M both play and lose to Florida. If Florida doesn't beat both Bama not in Atlanta this week. But yeah - then could back into BSC championship againg based on "body of work."

no, he's being an inconsistent whiner.

Muschamp's point is the correct one: you get to play for the SEC Championship, dillweed!. If that means you risk a stupid BCS bowl slot, so be it. Should be well worth the risk.

LSU had 1 regular season loss in 2005, lost to UGA and ended up in the Chick fil a bowl. Of course there was 1 less game, but it happens.

The benefit of playing in the SEC Championship game and winning is that you get to play for the NC. That should be incentive enough to play well and not lose.

My question is would you rather have the chance to play for the NC or not have the chance and just play in a BCS bowl. You can't have it both ways!!

Nick needs to shut the F up!

You mean like last year? When LSU took care of businees and finished with the best record in college football?

Nah. There has been plenty of rhetoric by a number of SEC coaches regarding this when it would allow a lower ranked team, most often out of conference, to take a BCS berth they would not otherwise obtain. I don't care, if I am UGA and lose I am pissed if missing a BCS bowl that UF gets.

unreal. how quickly some forget that bama wasnt the best team in their division last year stuff like that makes me so angry

This. The only way I will be happy now is if Georgia wins, Alabama goes to a crappy bowl game and Florida goes to the Sugar! lol...Georgia will be the crap out of ND and all will be good in the SEC!

Man this guy is such a tool! Basically begged his way back into the NCG and now he is begging to make sure he has a spot if his team fails!
