falcons will rest everyone last week, rams is toss up, and eagles is easy win. Easy arse schedule for Tampa. They've had an easy schedule so far and it's easy to end the season as well.

the logic of rooting for our most hated rival

There is no logic when dealing with a strong emotion such as hate. It has nothing to do with rivalries and everything to do with the numbers. The numbers say we need TB to lose and it just so happens a team we hate is in a position to do that for us. End of story.

Not if they are fighting for a better seed.

Honestly, the only game that we absolutely need to be rooting for a team to lose is Seattle.

The Tampa and Minnesota games can go either way and we would still be fine.

This, though an Atlanta loss makes it easier for our best possible outcome (division title) to occur.

The thing is, the people rooting for Atlanta think our only shot at the playoffs is as the 6 seed.

Truth is, the division is still a possibility and so is the 5th seed.

The only game that really matters, outside of our own of course, is the Seattle game.

And I would much rather make the playoffs as a division winner or the 5th seed at least.

If you get the math and probabilities, then the logic should follow. Logic is not emotion.

The Failclowns will get beat in the playoffs. I hope we are there only 3 loses this year. We just need the easiest path to the playoffs, so Matty Ice needs to start playing today and win the damn game.

Not like we *want* them to win. It's just that by winning they're helping us out. When we make the playoffs, hopefully we'll have a chance to return the favor by slaying them and knocking them out of said playoffs.

You know what's going to be great? When the Falcons end the season 14-3, and all 3 losses are to the Saints.

ATL beating TB helps NO move into the #6 spot. If TB wins, they remain ahead of you.

If you don't understand that, stop watching football.

Sure the division is a possibility. But not a probability. They'd have to win only one more game and us basically win out. Not likely

Plus, the only likely difference between winning the division and being a WC will be a homegame (although it COULD be two home games). A Falcons collapse likely means the NFCN gets one bye, and the 9ers are almost certainly getting the other. Sure, it's possible that the Saints could pass them up as well, but now we're relying on TWO teams collapsing as well as the Saints going undefeated.

I'm on the side of having fewer teams between us and the playoffs. Let work our way in to the top six and worry about a higher seed then. Fwiw there is really no difference in 5&6 seed

Atlanta losing to Tampa helps the Saints move to the 3rd or 4th seed, which is a better outcome than the 6th seed.

Either way, we have to beat Tampa. Whether it's to take a one game lead over them or to draw even, giving us the tie breaker.

If Atlanta loses this week and then to us, they would only have a two games lead with 4 to play.

Tampa winning this week doesn't really hurt us. Atlanta winning does.
