I'm sure the NFL will be around in 20 years but I doubt we'll recognize that sport.

Maybe they'll call it the National Flag League. No more hitting or tackling at all. The Rickey Jacksons and Ronnie Lotts will only be legends and memories of the way ball used to be played. Certainly superior athletes, coaching, and everything about the game now- except for continually more pussified rules. Look up some Jack Tatum video and enjoy when football was about hitting.

There could be a new league in the future that could challenge the NFL. One that institutes old school rules and hitting. It could be similar to the way UFC has supplanted boxing by highlighting what the sport is essentially about.

While I can't complain too much about all of the protecting the QB rules, because if Brees got knocked out we'd be done. But I don't know how safeties or DBs play with the rules they have about all this "defenseless" and "intent" nonsense.

Jack Tatum was an animal that should have been put down.

Perhaps the XFL was a few years before its time. There will be another league before long. The NFL is this back pedaling monopoly because it has no competition.
