Agreed. The worst part about this coaching search is that there isn't a top notch coach looking to move like Saban to Bama or Spurrier to SC. It looks like UT may have to hire an up and comer. Hopefully we'll hire a diamond in the rough and not shite in the weeds like our past two.

Saban and Spurrier were really safe bets, but hell, they might not have worked out. Saban won a title at LSU, obviously, but he had some bad losses during his tenure there. It was a safe bet he would get Bama back to respectability, but the chance to play for 3 national titles in 4 years? That's crazy.

Spurrier, meanwhile, took a significant amount of time to get South Carolina to where they are. 2005-2009 were all middling years. Nothing South Carolina had never experienced. It was only when he took them to the title game in 2010 that it became clear he was working. Many around here (myself included) thought Spurrier would hang it up before 2010 since it seemed like it wasn't working.
