Have always said that CFB is the greatest game on the planet, and Bowl games are a part of the reason.

BUT

To see UGA play only 2 ranked teams (lose to one of them) and be #3 in the BCS has changed my mind. Then, look at Ohio State - they played zero ranked teams and are undefeated. Notre Dame is the biggest sham of a #1 ever. Schedules are dramatically different - then we compare teams based solely on wins-loses.

Meanwhile LSU finally has it together and their only two loses were to top-5 teams. Yet we have no shot. Sorry about anything I ever said to the teams on the outside looking in. When you think your team is good enough to win it all - it sucks to not even be given a chance.

How so? Because they played a hard schedule, and beat everyone they played?

LSU struggled against a horrible Auburn team, but "that's winning on the road in the SEC".

ND struggled against PITT and its "ND sucks".

Your unjustified hate for ND is getting in the way of you stating truth.

I dont think LSU is good enough to win it all. Your offense looked jefferson-like (bcsncg) for a long time this year.

I'd just feel like such a Gump if I claimed my team as national champs with 2 losses over a team that finished the season undefeated.

Sorry, I just feel like ND would get rolled by any team in the top 10. Including Ohio State.

I've watched them.

Nah, I realize that we don't deserve it, but fact is these other teams didn't have to play THREE (at the time) top5 teams.

Only LSU has. Then we compare wins-losses as if teams played equal schedules.

I think LSU is one-loss with UGA/ND/OSU's schedule. That's all I'm saying.

Thing is, they seem to play to the level of their competition (MUCH like LSU). They play shitty against shitty teams (Pitt, BYU, Purdue) and bring their best against the better teams on their schedule.

Have you watched the other teams in the top 10?

Oregon got shut down by Stanford
Saw what happened to Kansas State
Alabama was torched and made out to be human two weeks in a row
LSU struggled against Auburn, and lost two fricking games
Did you watch the Georgia/USCe game?

Stop being a damn homer

ND played a harder schedule than:

Oregon, Alabama, Georgia.

Know what ND accomplished that those 3 didn't? They still went undefeated

OK, so the rankings are bullshite because teams are ranked high that haven't played many ranked teams [using the same bullshite rankings]?

Oh, but when it comes to LSU, rankings are legitimate and a good measure of quality?

thanks, the tv ratings have been great this year.

now, learn to watch with an open mind.

the ND defense is full of future NFL stars and the offense does enough to win...similar to many SEC teams, eh?

What games did you watch? Pitt? Sure, if ND played like they did that day, they lose to a top-10 team playing an average game. If LSU played like they did against Towson or Auburn, they get rolled by any top-10 team. If UF plays how they did against ULL, the same. I hate using transitive property, but Oregon and ND have one common opponent: Stanford. This post is stupid.

I shouldn't have been so harsh in throwing teams under the bus. Have watched a lot of other teams and still feel Oregon-Bama are the top 2.

My only point is:

Right now. Only right now. LSU could do very well in an 8-team playoff. The BCS blocks good teams based on their wins-loses. We played a harder schedule than anyone, played FOUR of the top-10. It's just not fair to compare UGAs schedule to ours. We have their record with their schedule and vice versa.

Amen. Good teams come out flat against lesser opponents ALL the time. Sure, on paper, top 10 teams are supposed to go out and roll unranked teams, but that's why you play the game.

Different teams present different matchup problems, as well. Just because A beats B, handedly, and B rolls C, doesn't mean that C can't give A a game, even beat A.

I agree with you on the playoff, that LSU would be best served if such a system were in place, especially given the way our offense has come around. However, it's tough to make that argument when we generally point the finger at teams that lose one or two games early on in the season and finish out strong; especially, since we were such strong advocates against Bama getting a second shot last year because they didn't take care of business in their own division. I understand that you aren't asking us to petition ESPN for a second chance, like a certain division rival of ours did last year, but the system we have in place now only allows for fate to fall into place by relying on other teams to fail.

But, I do think that with the lack of a "dominant" team this season, that a playoff would be desirable.

we probably wouldn't get in an 8-team playoff (and for sure not a 4-team)

why do you think we'd get in one?

an 8-team playoff would look like

KSU
Bama
Stanford
FSU
whoever wins the Big10
Notre Dame
UGA/Florida
Oregon

Notre Dame won't get rolled by anyone. That defense is too good for that. WHAAAAAAAAAAAT a good defense outside of the SEC? BOLLOCKS!
