I don't think Franklin is QUITE ready for a big time job yet..but he's close. Very close.
Pulling talent of the level he's pulling, at Vanderbilt, is near impossible. And they're winning games. He's building something solid there.

You were only "high up" in your own minds. You are an average SEC program, some good years, some bad. You were just on a program high run, partly due to the rest of the SEC being down (don't get me wrong, we're taking advantage of it too).

I feel pretty confident that the Ohio idiot also known as Jeff Long did make a run at James Franklin. The time line
1. leaked out that we were going to have a coach signed by this weekend or Saturday specifically.
this was a ploy by Jeff Long to give Franklin a chance to break away from Vandy after its last game of the season Saturday.
2. said idiot Jeff Long, then leaked that Arkansas was interested in James Franklin and BOT members went ape chit.
3. BOT members said they did not want Franklin then idiot Long did not know what to do and back tracked to Franklin
4. statement gets released this morning, leak by said idiot Long that James Franklin was NOT in the mix for the university of Arkansas job
5. James Franklin states that he is not interested in Arkansas job and denies interest.
idiot Long to save face then denied that any contact of any sort was made. I think contact was made but the level of interest on our end was from only one idiot AD. The state of Arkansas would implode if they were to James Franklin as coach and Long would have been fired so it is better that this did not happen.
He was not in the top 5 or 6 coaches that we are interested in and why they even reached out I have no idea.
