okay, okay...being extremely lucky that Cam's dad turned down $200,000 from Mississippi State and let his son go to Auburn for no money doesn't mean that Auburn hiring Chizik wasn't a failure by the Athletic Director. is that better?

me thinking you bought Cam doesn't change the fact that your AD made a horrible hire. I'm just trying to figure out how he could get away with making such a horrible hire. I know y'all booed Chizik, but how did the AD not get run out of town.

Winning a national championship and going undefeated helped. so it wasn't an awful hire, just time to move on. you seem really butthurt.

do you really believe this. Look at the record he had coming in. Look at his resume. He was a failure as a head coach. You fired a coach who had gone undefeated a few years before and hired a coach with 5 total wins to his name. Show me a coach with a worse resume that was hired by an SEC team in your lifetime. Just one.

What was it? Didn't he have like 7 straight losses or something?

Basically what I said a while ago. There are programs that would sacrifice decades without a win in exchange for a BCS title. Auburn got one and gets to fire the guy 2 years later, not a bad deal.

this thread isn't about results. It's about them making a horrible hire. There is 0% chance that Gene Chizik was the best coach that Auburn could have hired. Yet, they hired him and the same AD is going to fire him and replace him. I am astonished that he was able to hire Chizik in the first place. And, it is even more unbelievable that he's going to have any hand in the next hire.

this is what I meant. What he accomplished is irrelevant to the fact that he was a bad hire. Much like hiring Saban would be a freakin' great hire, even if he never won a NC for whichever team hired him.
