A guy I knew sort of knew from my hometown killed his girlfriend's ex husband last year. Emptied a shotgun into the guy we always knew the guy was thrown the frick off.

I have an acquaintance who was in Afghanistan with the army. Some crazy stories. Some that he doesn't like to talk about... I don't push him to talk too much about it.

The bar I worked at was attached to a hotel. Their valet lot was 2 blocks up the street. It wasn't very late - only about 3am (an hour after close) but the valets had left already. Usually there would've been more foot traffic but it was a very cold night. It was a route I'd walked hundreds of times before with no issue. I'm usually pretty aware of what's going on around me but this guy just came charging out an alley between 2 buildings. I'm far more cautious now than I was then.
FWIW - I've always carried knives... a habit I picked up bartending in the French Quarter.
The one I had on me that night was an Al Mar folder they don't make anymore...
Nowadays I usually carry 2 - One on each side in case I can't reach one of them.

The horrible man was apprehended and transferred back to Louisiana. The father waited at the airport that he knew the criminal was going through. Single shot at point blank. After quick trial, released with time served.
I remember that. It happened in the early 1980's. The kid's dad popped a cap into the scumbag's head and dropped him like a ton of bricks. I saw a video of it on television. It was beautiful what the dad did. Utterly beautiful.

Definitely. Have a good friend who is a retired Apache driver.
He killed entire streets filled with attackers. Once in Iraq and twice in Afghanistan.

I forgot about this. My step father who is a railroad driver for Union Pacific, ran over a kid about 5 years ago. Still goes to his grave every year, kills him, but nothing he could have done about it.

Oh, hell, I forgot, three guys I went to high school with went to jail for murder.
All three were hate crimes. One guy went trolling a known gay hangout in Pensacola and beat a dude to death with an iron pipe. Turned out later, the guy was a Bellsouth worker fixing an underground phone line. Dude got life without parole.
Two other dudes were like Frick and Frack when we were growing up and they were always into something. The went down to the gay bars in Pensacola and waited for a gay guy to come out of the bar. When he did, they ran him over and killed him.
A few years ago, I was talking to my wife on the phone while driving down the road in Tuscaloosa when I saw a shitload of cops and the coroner's van surrounding an apartment complex on Hargrove Rd. She was at work and started telling the other women in the office all about it, as I was I describing the scene. A week later, we found out that three people had been murdered in one of the apartments and the guy who killed them was the son of a woman who worked in the office with my wife and was listening to me describe the scene as I drove by.
I also grew up with a girl whose dad was on death row in Florida. They executed him back around 2004, or so.
