So, you are admitting that the next line of consoles from Sony and Microsoft will be gimmicks because all they will do is enhance the graphic capabilities?

If that was the only upgrade and if you qualify a significant increase in graphics from one console to the next a gimmick then sure.
At this point it would just be an argument over what you think is or isn't gimmicky.

Yes, and since changing the way games are played is somehow gimmicky to you, there really can't be any improvements to any system that wouldn't just be a gimmick.

First off when I said "Bingo" to your question:
I was reffering to the Wii U's slightly better graphics than current gen consoles, not the significantly better graphics you see in new gen consoles. I think this is where we got separated.
this should make my next comment that a significant increase in graphics from one gen to the next doesn't qualify as a gimmick, make more sense.
Therefore, the Wii U tablet at his point is still a gimmick by the definition I gave and not all changes are gimmicky.

That the original Wii was far short of. Nintendo greatly enhanced its own graphic capabilities. This doesn't really add anything to game play, but neither does the increased graphics from the other consoles.

The Wii U will suffer down the line with third party developers again. If the leaked Durango specs are accurate then the computing power included in next-gen consoles will result in similar disparity the Wii faced (which might mean a ridiculous sales lead, who knows)

You got nowhere with your insults. I think the game pad is a gimmick insofar as it relies on developers tying game aspects to it instead of improving game play. Doesn't mean it won't sell though, thought the same thing about the Wii motion controls (and kinect/move)

like SBR said and like I even said earlier, a developer might really be able to do something cool with the gamepad. Right now it is just a selling point that has no real sustenance behind it. Also known as a gimmick.
