well, there is that. But if it's close and he sees a matchup developing that he'd like another week to focus on, we might see some odd calls late. Ethical? No. Pac 12 Coach of the Year? Maybe.

I guess it will be a one-time situation, because I'm sure there will be some sort of rule put in if it happens. But basically, yeah, UCLA can decide this is a scrimmage against Stanford. Run a few plays, see if you can beat a corner or something, then rest the starters. Stanford will have to play to win, because they're out if they lose. UCLA just needs to decide they can physically play with them (obviously), and then maybe push the score enough that Stanford empties the playbook.
