i played basketball in high school. we all played from Jr high through high school together, the entire group of us and we were probably, the 2nd best Jr team in the state behind Pulaski Heights who had jamal anderson and a few other athletes on it that people outside the state would not know. we played them and lost by 4. PH hadn't lost a game in 2 years and beat one team 90 something to 7. their coach ran a half court trap that most teams just could not have the athletes to handle.

lol we went to high school and the same team, i think we won 1 conference game the entire season. and I went to Fuller in Jr HIgh school it's not like we put out shitty teams we were feeding mills great fricking teams and the high school coach had no fricking clue what he was doing. none whatsoever. it became laughable. Bam doyne, who went to play for ole miss came over for off season his freshman year and I mean we knew him he was light years better than the guy who we had playing small forward but the coach would not play him with the first team beucase he wasn't a senior.

eventually the principle let him go and hired our assistant coach as our coach.

the next year we finished in the top 4 in the state. lost 3 games all year, 2 to the same team. and maybe half of the games were close. we went to Sylan Hills, where archie goodwin is form and was up something like 42 to 8 at half time.

a coach can go a long way
