I just had local done. The only real discomfort I felt was the pressure, didn't really experience pain. I was also prescribed percoset.

Let them knock you out, Dr. gave me 4 valium to take the morning of surgery. Surgery was at 8 am, and I don't remember much about that whole day just that I woke up around 5pm with cotton in my mouth.

With insurance, we paid very little for mine. Local and general for me.

Had all taken 4 out in June under local. No big deal. Didn't feel a thing. As long as you don't mind some pressure or teeth cracking your ok and there was very little of that. I've had one filling before, no worse. 2 were impacted. If in Baton Rouge, Dr. Dyess is as good as there is in town to perform surgery.

I had all 4 removed. My top 2 came in straight with plenty of room, but my bottom 2 were sideways. General was the only way to go. It was nice sitting in the office one minute and being carried into your house the next. I had nausea from the painkiller (good old ibuprofen >>> fancy nausea-inducing painkiller), but otherwise I was fine. I didn't even get chipmunk cheeks.

Go with IV sedation (not genreal sedation and certainly not local anesthesia alone)
