re: Mett's play over the last two weeks makes you wonder about Jan 9th doesn't it?

He didnt start hitting his stride until the Oline was mixed up. I think that has made a huge difference. Plus our receivers catching everything all of a sudden.

Oline was pushed around in nola. Would be the same result with Mett standing back there. You saw his ball security early on.

This is what should have happened last year. J lee starts every game jj comes in on certain plays when needed. Mett comes in after game is put away to give him much needed experience. None of that happened because Miles is a tard when it comes to QBs. Can we finally move on!

I think it's clear that Mett wouldn't have helped us in the MNC.

However, I can't help but wonder what would have happened if Mett had actually gotten some work in all those blow outs we posting up in 2011. Maybe Mett would have hit his stride before we played Florida this year. (*sigh*)

And another thing, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

Bama was ready for us and flat out beat our arse. That's all there is to it. I don't think drew Brees could have saved us.

not to mention the defensive players that were on that team who dress out on sundays now.

So you're saying you think he didnt practice throwing at all the entire time hes been at LSU, and it wasn't until January 10th they allowed him to pick up a football

It's possible.

Every snap JJ took last year, imagine if Mett had gotten those snaps instead......

If Mett can take the strides that he did in a one week

what a dumb statement. like he has been our qb for one week. let's see, spring practice, fall practice and then what 7 games in the season. yes, he gelled but so did the damn OL. your spin trying to make our coaches out to be dufuses just ain't playing man. not with anybody with any football sense. last year was a run for a national championship not a time to break in a new qb.

The OP was poorly worded. I wasn't implying that Mett should have played on Jan 9th. I was trying to say that Jarrett Lee should have played and we should have thrown the ball

Let it go and if you can't, Lee would have played on 1-9 just as he played 95% of the time against Alabama---like crap. .

I am curious after a few sec defensive coordinators have watched some tape how are passing game will do. we still need variation and him to really mix up the passes to lots of guys. the thing that gives me hope is his control of alot of the passes.

True dat.

Obviously Lee had the experience of playing for a few years, so if some of the 4 weeks before the NC game was dedicated to developing some passing game plan with Lee
Now you just went double-tard.

+1

Mett threw 10 passes last year -one game, completed 8. He should have been given more playing time in prep for this..our infallible coaching staff decided he did not need that..really??...we would likely not have lost to FL this year if he had a little more ACTUAL EXPERIENCE.

As far as 1-91-12, either he or Lee would have been a "passing threat" and bought us an extra second or 2 in the game, but once again our infallible leader knew best and SURRENDERED us..no, he embarrassed us on National TV.

I do not care what else he has done, what else he does.

He was an arrogant idiot on that day and that will remain on his record.....much like a felon's record remains with him no matter what else he does.

-they keep mounting up:
co-defensive coordinators
1-9-12
Florida game-lack of prep
Bama defense (end of game), fake field goal and Spencer's run this year--

Metts plays the first few games doesn't. You people try to over think things to accommodate you're already existing opinions...

How short a memory do y'all have? Ppl were calling for his position the start of the year..

No. Mett needed several games THIS year to get focused and comfortable. Bama is not set up to handle a running quarterback. (Manzel?) As bad as JJ was, he was still our best chance against probably the best defense I've seen, although I really think Les should have permitted Lee to go in and give it a parting shot. He helped get us to that point and earned the shot.

Then we lose at Bama...don't make the SEC championship and possibly not the NC and we're not even having this discussion.

exactly my point...he was not as ready as we were made out to believe...

more experience last year would have taken some pressure off this one.
