He coached at UK before. You do realize this?

Twice. Left, came back, and got his Masters at UK too.

Lulz at our fan base crying for Petrino. Mitch will NEVER consider him. Time to get off that train.

A former Super Bowl winning head coach, IMO.

I'm reading more and more rumors for Butch Jones at UK. Not my first choice, but his coaching record is pretty solid. The only question I have is that he has followed Brian Kelly at his last two stops and has 3 years at each. Is he winning with Kelly's recruits, or a mix of his own and Kellys?

He has ties to Michigan and Ohio, which I think can be fertile recruiting ground for UK of kids who don't want to play boring big 10 football.
I"m warming up to him as a viable option.

Not my first choice either for the reasons I gave, but his overall record is successful in the MAC and Big Least, not sure if that would translate to the SEC though.

I watch CIncy a lot, because my cousin starts for them. They are nowhere near as good as they were with Kelly. I just don't think that he'd do well here.

OK, I trust you on that. He is not my first choice either. At this point, Barnhart is really quiet. Either has choice is made and ready and just waiting for the end of the season to announce, or he has no one committed.
Probably won't hear anything until the season is over next week either way.

I think the timeline will be the week after next. Most teams are playing their last season game next week. So if the week goes and no one is hired, you have to think he has an NFL guy in mind. The problem is he may use that excuse to buy time and still come up with a college guy. To me, that would mean we whiffed on a couple guys and Mitch is trying to save face. Apparently Larry Glover was citing a source last night saying it was going to be Phil Fullmer and you'd know soon. Hope not.

Honestly Fulmer might not be a bad choice IF he brings Chavis as DC, and keeps Sanders as OC. He would be a caretaker coach to get UK back competitive, and with the rash of firings occurring (See Dooley thread), it might make sense. With at least 4 SEC openings (Auburn probably), it might not be the best year to try to get your home run coach as there are more attractive jobs opening up.
