but that's what humans do after their government bends them over and fricks them up the ass, which is basically what may go down If this keeps up. Not that I support it, but the idiots that elected him will be idiots when they finally realize how badly he's fricking this country up its ass.

I'd much rather have 4 super models licking my sack clean instead of showering. This morning, I took a shower.

There was a time where men considered their State above all else. Course that was back when the constitution was still in it's original state and had not been bastardized to the point our government became a massive bloated monster that we have today.

You're an "ivory tower" person if you think idiots are idiots?

Sorry, but I'm not wasting my time contemplating hypotheticals of what MAY make me support secession. It's dumb. We're a very long way from me supporting secession. In reality, I'd tend more towards revolution than secession. "I'm taking my ball and going home. Hrrrrrumph!"

Whatever, man you refuse to answer a simple question. It doesnt justify anyone's opinion to answer yes or no. To be clear, I dont currently support secession but I would once that line is crossed.

You did not need to vote for Obama to realize how stupid the "successionists" are acting.

It will come eventually but not yet.

A likely scenario will be a complete economic crash necessitating that the federal government take control of the means of food production.

What does that mean? That means that food would be grown in places like Arkansas and Louisiana and shipped to places like New York City which has a population about the size of Louisiana and Arkansas combined while people in places like Arkansas and Louisiana largely starved or had to lose everything and move to camps where they could get fed.

Now ask the question about secession in that sort of scenario. Would the people of places like Arkansas and Louisiana sit back and allow food and other resources produced in their states to be sent elsewhere without a fight?

Secession is unrealistic as long as being the United States offers more benefits than drawbacks. But when the negatives outweigh the positives and those in the hinterlands are treated more like subjegated peoples than citizens, the US will break apart as surely as Rome did and for the same reasons.

To be honest neither are even close to likely......

If for nothing else, people in this country are too pre-occupied with other crap to worry that much about government. That's partially the reason politicians are able to rob us blind and nothing ever happens to them. People are too focused on their daily lives, American Idol, Snooki, Lady Gaga, to really pay all that much attention to what a bunch of politicos are doing.
Some change may happen when you have a throng of white collar workers show up at a polticians office on a Wednesday afternoon at 2pm.......then and only then will they realize something is seriously afoot and we are going to hold them accountable for their actions. Until that occurs all of this BS is nothing more than mindless bluster.

It's a stupid question. Of course there is some hypothetical line that I might draw, but I'm not wasting the ink trying to draw it. I'll know it when we get there and I can tell you that we are a long way from that line right now.

If only you'd join the dark side, we could be, like, on the same side. Which would be the dark one. And that's awesome.

Well everyone has a limit. I'm not for secession as of now, but let's say that the executive branch started imprisoning political dissenters

Jester. Dude.

You do realize that the only way to make sure our babies aren't slaughtered in endless wars and green energy crusades is to secede, right?

Is there any line that the federal government can cross that would cause you to support secession?

NONE.

Revolution is a different story.

I was somewhat a liberal around 4 or 5 years ago. I really liked Obama because he was campaigning on ending the wars, fiscal responsibility and government transparency(oops). Then I had a brief stint as a neo-con ( ), and finally I turned to classical liberalism.

Or maybe throwing preachers in jail for not praying for the president. Oh wait, Honest Abe did that one too.
