Game Speed.
I'm at a loss here. The difference in gamespeed between BLOPS and BLOPS II is night and day. I would have figured after seeing the outrage over MW3, they would have learned by example. Apparently not.

The maps are created to promote CQC and force the action. Even when a map is geographically large, the paths and routes all force you back into the action without ever giving you sight lines. In fact, there are hardly any long range sight lines in Black Ops II. There are opportunities for the sight lines, but they are crowded with exploding barrels, cars, crates, potted plants, etc scattered at random.

Lets not forget that every bulding has 4 doors, 3 ladders, 5 crates you can climb into the windows, and 2 underground passages to it. If you ran 2 shock charges and 2 bouncing betty's you still couldn't cover your 6 in this game.

Also, take notice that there are no real maps that have a side with a elevation advantage. They are all equal or the elevation advantage has a very limited sight line. Therefore there's no need for people to fight over those spots.

When you pair all that with the score system, being that you can't really just sit back and rack up scorestreaks off of kills, you have to push and play objectives to really get scorestreaks.

The gameplay is going to be 95 mph at all times, no matter gametype. minus the hardcore pussies.

Seems TreyArch decided to go all in on the attempt to please the competitive gaming community and left out the casual players in this regards.



Gun Use/Balance
With the sped up gameplay and the powerful SMG's. That's all anyone and everyone uses. And when the people who can't get kills with SMG's in CQC, the switch to shotguns because they are BH.


There's no purpose to use and Assault Rifle. There are no sight lines or chokepoints with these maps. Even if there are, the guys runnings SMG's and Shotguns have 15 different passage ways to come behind you.

If they would tone down every SMG's power 2 notches and range 2 notches. The use of SMG's vs Assault Rifle would balance out.

Of course the AR player is going to lose every gun battle vs the SMG player. They have the exact same range and power, but the SMG pumps out about 3 bullets per second faster.

I could be wrong but it doesn't seem like COD cares about shot placement or accuracy from players anymore. It's solely who can shoot the most bullets the fastest. Therefore, SMG's rule BLOPS 2.

Sniping

As a sniper. Someone who once solely sniped on COD. From someone who if in need can quickscope. It's just become too easy. Way to easy. They mentioned in all the pre-release interviews about it being taken note of and nerfed. Not true.

Also, remember when on COD4, W@W, MW2, BLOPS, when carrying a LMG, Rocket Launcher, or Sniper you didn't have near the agility or speed the AR, Pistol, and SMG users did. Ha, I can run as fast with a enormous sniper rifle as I can with a MSMC SMG now.

BLOPS II is a quickscopers wet dream.
Has anyone noticed there's no perk for longer ability to hold your breath while ADS?

I have. You hardly have to hold your breath while sniping at all. Then when you attach that anti-sway device. There's no need. It's ADS and fire. There's no sway whatsoever with a one shot kill weapon.

I don't understand why TreyArch and Activision just don't nerf the quickscoping distance down to like 5 feet. Fine, if you are quick enough to out dual a pistol or SMG with a quickscoope, congrats. They sholdn't be allowed to quickscope folks from across the map. ever.


Even if they create larger maps that people are already bitching for. The sniping that will take place on those maps will be unbearable with what I am explaining above. Everyone now has a one shot kill weapon, that doesn't limit their agility or speed, nor does it have any sway when ADS.


Lag Compensation

There's got to be something going on here.


ON BLOPS OR MW2 I COULD DOWN A HALF A FIFTH OF WHISKEY, SLURRING AND HARDLY ABLE TO STAND UP, YET COULD RUN THRU MAPS FULL SPRINT AND DESTROY PEOPLE IN 1V1 GUN BATTLES .

I lose 50% of the gun battles I get in, no matter the range, weapon, or angle.

Am I getting old? Have I passed my video game prime? Naw.

Has to be lag compensation. On my screen I'm pumping bullets into their chest when getting the drop on them first. On their screen I'm just now turning around and I've hit them twice.

I'm sorry for those who live out in the sticks and cannot upgrade their internet past a certain point. But frick them. You should be required to have a certain download rate and ping time to even play COD.

And for those playing on basic cable and shitty connection. Well, I think many of you know my thoughts on those poor arse people.

i get punished for having a 16MB connection and sub 5ms ping? Seems fair.

Is this something that can be patched?

I just wished they could maybe add some recoil to the smg. I really hate losing a gun fight from across the map to a guy with a mp7

I'm doing real well by staying mobile and trying to keep add much distance as possible between me and an smg. I win more than I lose and it has a lot more to do with maps then gun vs gun. We need to communicate more,I think that would help honestly. Sometimes the only time people talk is when they are yelling about what bullshite just killed them.

Certain maps, smg is a necessity.
My pro tip....keep grinding, keep moving and lower your personal performance expectations. I'm a solid 1.75 player on BLOPS II and I'm ok with that.

Turbine, Yemen, the one in the jungle, the map with villa and blinged out cars...all have elevation changes.

And God forbid you play an objective and not be able to spawn trap. The horrors of balanced gameplay!

I do agree with you on the SMGs and snipers and catering to the 12 year old sickscoperzomg types.
