This whole thing is a disaster. Simply The principal was way out of line and should be terminated.
She could have easily resolved the problem by allowing LO to stay on the field and delay the start of the game with both coaches likely agreeing.
Very poor judgement on her part and that fact should cost her her job. The LO coach said his team lost fair and square
Once again in sports involving minors- it is the adults who do not know how to behave
I for one would not want that lady representing my school

The start of the game was never in jeopardy of being delayed. In fact, the Parkway band was not even held up. The Parkway principal decided to take it upon herself to remove the Live Oak team from the field so that the Live Oak band could perform. The Live Oak band had already given their time up for the football team. The "arrest" was made several minutes before Parkway's band was scheduled to take the field.
The principal got her panties in a bunch because she knew it would look bad on her school if they did not let the Live Oak band perform on the field after traveling a long way to be at the game. Her biggest mistake was taking a LHSAA playoff game and turning it into a Parkway home game where they get to make all of the rules. In a LHSAA playoff game, both teams should be allowed equal access. In this case, both bands should have been allowed time to perform at halftime.
