I can honestly say that if Parkway traveled to LO in no way would our fan base or school treated anyone the way we were treated there. I would be ashamed to be associated with that type of behavior. All this bad publicity for Parkway is because of their principal. Not to mention the refs warned Tut to stay behind the side lines, but Parkways coach spent the game five yards out on the field with nothing said.
I can't speak for the Principal or the Deputy's part in all of this, but if you were treated poorly by our fans, that is unacceptable, let me be the first to apologize to you.

So because you couldn't find the rule the coach was breaking, you expect me to list all the ones he wasn't breaking?

your just spewing a lot of hate and misinformation.
What hate? Hate for stupidity? I'm not going to stop doing that. What misinformation? That the coach did not need to leave the field? That's not misinformation, that's fact.

Nah. Got friends who are, but that's about it.

"If the deputy had half a brain he wouldn't have gotten involved in the Parkway vs. LO pissing match. But many people don't have the abiltiy to think for themselves I guess. "
Ding!Ding!Ding!
I can't believe this officer allowed himself to be used by the principal this way. Because at the end of the day, it's not going to be her sitting in court on a wrongful detainment/improper use of authority lawsuit.

"If you believe that the LO coach should have left the field, then you believe that Parkway was right.
End of story.
If I have to explain this to you, then you're pretty dense"
That's a very inaccurate statement. Unless a police officer orders me to commit a crime or puts my life or health in danger, if he gives me a command I am going to follow it. We can discuss the matter and if I feel I am in the right I can file a complaint, but if I openly defy an officer's request than I am opening myself up to the consequences.
For example, a police officer flashes his lights for you to pull over and you say to heck with him I wasn't speeding so you keep driving. Same principle.

This whole thing is a disaster. Simply The principal was way out of line and should be terminated.
She could have easily resolved the problem by allowing LO to stay on the field and delay the start of the game with both coaches likely agreeing.
Very poor judgement on her part and that fact should cost her her job. The LO coach said his team lost fair and square
Once again in sports involving minors- it is the adults who do not know how to behave
I for one would not want that lady representing my school

If you keep driving, you ARE breaking a law.
Same goes here...the coach was under no obligation to leave the field. What law did he break?
Posted on 11/15/12 at 1:07 pm to LeagueCityTiger
It's not even remotely the same principle.

You just proved my point. By flashing lights the police office is REQUESTING you to pull over. If you don't comply, you are breaking the law. When a police office requests you leave the field 4 times and you don't? To be clear, I am
a completely neutral party here and I am not saying either is in the right or wrong but once a policed officer requests multiple times and you refuse what the hell do you think is gonna happen?
The bigger question is What about Live Oak's principal? Where was she??? When she saw police and Parkway's principal on the field why wasn't she out there handling it???

A police officer flashing his lights and this incident are two completely different circumstances, it's like comparing apples to oranges. In this situation the police officer would have to inform me of why he was requesting me to leave the field, and the law in which I was breaking.

It's an example. Here's another that happens all the time. Teenagers shopping at the mall. Police officer asks them to leave (suspicious looking). They refuse because they aren't "doing anything wrong." What happens next? Police officer asks again and if they continue to resist they are escorted off the premises.

Bottom line, if Tut's goal was to get along, play nice, and not have anyone be mad at him, he would have left the field when the cop asked him to.
But if his goal was to protect his team's pregame routine to the best of his ability within the LHSAA rules, then he would have done exactly what he did.

I understand both sides trust me. If his principal was out there like she should have been the coach wouldn't have put in that situation to begin with.

The start of the game was never in jeopardy of being delayed. In fact, the Parkway band was not even held up. The Parkway principal decided to take it upon herself to remove the Live Oak team from the field so that the Live Oak band could perform. The Live Oak band had already given their time up for the football team. The "arrest" was made several minutes before Parkway's band was scheduled to take the field.
The principal got her panties in a bunch because she knew it would look bad on her school if they did not let the Live Oak band perform on the field after traveling a long way to be at the game. Her biggest mistake was taking a LHSAA playoff game and turning it into a Parkway home game where they get to make all of the rules. In a LHSAA playoff game, both teams should be allowed equal access. In this case, both bands should have been allowed time to perform at halftime.

the police officer was not unfairly ordered to pull you over, and driving down the street is not your assigned job for that timeframe.
You're conveniently ignoring key elements of the story in your analogy, which is why it's a terrible analogy.
