I'm with you regarding that LSU should pursue it. I should have been more specific as to why it is not a big deal. There are several accreditations and memberships which are much more important of which LSU is indeed a member. If 13 of the SEC schools were AAU members then yes it would certainly be a big deal. I don't think it's a big deal as far as recruiting a football player especially since most of our main competition ( Arky, Bama, FSU , Auburn, etc) aren't AAU either.

No it's not. REGIONAL accreditation is what really matters. The vast majority of schools aren't nationally accredited, mainly because they don't need to be. Harvard, Yale, Stanford and plenty of other great schools are only regionally accredited. Why would they waste money and time on a misconception around national accreditation. Most schools won't even accept all transfer credits from nationally accredited schools
