Mett is 4 yrs out of HS; not a kid

Where did I say he was a "kid". I said he was a first year starter in the SEC. He is. Fact.

He's been through two springs and into his 2nd fall.

You can't simulate game speed or a hostile crowd in practice no matter how bad you would like to think you can.

Nor do I think we are compelled to accept that anytime we play a "great" D in the first eight games that we shouldn't expect our O to work.

Our offense sure was working against USCe. They have a great defense.

Correct.

Man, I really wished I lived in a world where everyone was perfect like you. I guess kickers should never miss FGs, turnovers should never happen, and a defense should never hold someone from scoring. What an idiot. How many teams ever have a 100% scoring offense in the RZ, let alone the 30. Jesus Christ.

Just my sarcastic response to your silly overstatment.

Our O looked better than it did all year vs Bama. But most of our enthusiasm is against the backdrop of how sluggish we've looked most of the season.

Is 17 pts really reason to rejoice? Even if vs Bama? Is 23 vs USCe? We scored two TD's in '09 vs Bama(comparable D to this years) at BDS with Crowton as OC and a QB swap-out.

Compare Ole Miss: 1st year coach, 1st yr QB (soph fresh out of JC), with players we don't even recruit and five games into the season they score 2 TDs vs Bama at BDS (not just during trash time either).

I don't like OM; but simply pointing out other teams with less talent get their O's airborne much sooner than we do and our failure to fly earlier cost us a win vs UF.

The problem isn't with Mett (but appealing to his "1st yr" doesn't hold water either). There is something latent in our approach that hurts on the scoreboard and in the win column.
