Ah, winters in the South. Some of these are making me laugh. Open windows! 
Winter is a cold, bleak, gray, dark period of the year, with snow and slush and general yuck all over. It has already started and will last until May.

walks on a desolate beach by myself with a hot cup of mocha java wearing a pair rl polo cargo shorts, a windbreaker from orvis, a pair of lebron shoes by nike along with a pair of long black dress socks.

Seriously though, I hate the cold, can only take it in small doses. It gets sorta cold here, just enough to wear a few cute winter clothing items at night.
Like getting to wear my cute boots for the few weeks it is actually sorta kinda cold here though 
Love driving up to Flagstaff to go play in the snow with the dogs...and then being able to drive back to perfect 70 degree weather later that day when I'm tired of the cold and snow.

It's just the feeling of being lonely during the holidays. Even around family and friends, the feeling of not having that special someone to share the moment with in that particular way.
Looking back, so many of the songs that spoke to me touched on that same theme, of forlorn and unrequited love, of those bitter pangs of loss, of hopeless desire.
And it all makes so much sense now. Like my soul knew.

My gumbo kicks ass
Can expand wardrobe
Can take the dogs in the car while I run errands
Football bowls/playoffs
Cheap electricity bill
That time there's an 8% chance of a snow flurry, watching the local news get a huge boner over it
