Baseball: Notes from the final 2 games of Purple vs Gold WS

Game one:
FR P Reynolds gave up one run in 3 innings and touched 93
JR INF Ibarra hit a bomb
SO OF Scaimbra recorded 2 hits and 2 RBI
FR OF Laird and Stevenson recorded singles
Game 2:
Moore and Katz doubled
Freshman Chinea hit a bomb
Cotton threw 1 scoreless with 2 Ks
FR OF Stevenson and JR OF McMullen hit triples
I expect our OF to be tremendously improved from last year. We have guys that have speed and seem to hit pretty well also.

Saw interview with Maneiri:
LINEUP
C Ty Ross
3B Ibarra
SS Bregman (defense not Nola but good enough)
2B JaCoby Jones
1B Tyler Moore
OF Mason Katz
Raph Rhymes
Chris Sciambra
Mark Laird bat will get in lineup (possibly DH)
More speed in OF - more options - he did mention Alex Edward having good fall
Chinea and Powell showed some pop in fall ball
Nola and Eades in rotation
Reynolds throwing well
Cotton looks to stay in bullpen - too valuable there and other potential starters emerged but pitching will be determined in non conference games initially
McCune had a really good fall coming off his disappointing so year
Glenn pitched better as well - role still to be determined
Rest of pitching - Bonvillain still in contention for weekend starter role
Rumbelow, Berry, Bourgeois, LaMarche all in pen
No mention of Hunter Newman or Mitch Sewald - not sure where they factor in
The walk on pitcher was Fury
