Hogs In The Trap........ Finally.

Many of you may remember (yeah, right) that I built a 20' by 20' hog trap in low area of pasture next to woods. This area is frequented by 20 or so hogs as we caught them on a game cam. Left the trap door OFF for 3 weeks and fed the trap with a shitload of corn on the ground as well as the feeder. Hogs went in and out of trap at will. Then, finally we put the trap door on but once we did, the slimey bastards WOULD NOT GO into trap. We tried for 6 months and gave up.
Well, guess what happens next. For Shits and Grins, two weeks ago I put corn on the ground and filled the feeder. Two days later went back and had 5 hogs in the trap. We ran off another 15 or so as we approached the trap. All 5 were over 75 pounds.
Now my question: Will it take another 6 months before they go back in?

Can I shoot said hogs please? My AR 15 is still a virgin and I'm pretty lucky I don't have hogs on my land, but its killing me that I haven't killed anything with it yet.

No pics. In the chaos of all the hogs scurring about outside the trap, I failed to take pics.

leave the door in place and up.. just pin it or dont hook up trip wire or log or whatever you're using.. add a little cool aid mix to the corn, spice it up,,... shouldnt take long.

No it shouldn't take another six months but if you killed them in the trap clean all the blood out. They will be back.

Caught 5 one time & reset trap & caught a big boar the next day. so to answer your question set it back but don't expect much for a while but it can happen
