The problem with htat is not enough LSU fans go... we are too busy doing our own tailgate to go to it.

BATON ROUGE - ESPN may as well be called the LSU Network this week as the fifth-ranked Tigers will get plenty of attention from the all sports channel leading up to Saturday night's contest against top-ranked Alabama in Tiger Stadium.

LSU and Alabama will battle for the third time in less than a year when the teams meet in a contest that could go a long way in shaping the national championship picture. Alabama is 8-0 overall and 5-0 in league play, while LSU is 7-1 overall and 3-1 in conference action. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:11 p.m. on CBS.

The teams split two meetings last year with LSU winning, 9-6, in overtime during the regular season in Tuscaloosa, while the Crimson Tide claimed the BCS National Championship with a 21-0 victory in the second contest.

ESPN will kick off its coverage of the game on Tuesday as the network will have an all-access day with the Tigers at the LSU Football Operations Building. ESPN's Tom Rinaldi will be on site for live interviews throughout the day with LSU head coach Les Miles, defensive coordinator John Chavis as well as defensive standouts Barkevious Mingo and Eric Reid and quarterback Zach Mettenberger.

ESPN's popular College Gameday pre-game show, featuring Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and Samantha Steele, will arrive on campus on Friday. College Gameday will air live from the LSU Parade Grounds in the center of campus on Saturday morning from 8 until 11 a.m.

ESPN's College Gameday Radio featuring Ryen Russillo, Brad Edwards and Trevor Matich will also broadcast from Baton Rouge this week.

ESPN the Magazine will be on campus all week capturing photos and stories leading up the Saturday's game as part of its "One Day, One Game" issue. The "One Day, One Game" issue will give readers an inside look at all aspects of what it takes to prepare and put on a game of this magnitude in Tiger Stadium.

ESPN the Magazine will scour the campus with 20 writers and 20 photographers to give a detailed account on everything that takes place for a Saturday night game in Tiger Stadium. The issue will hit the newsstands next week.

The madness of LSU-Alabama week starts on Monday when Miles meets with the media for his weekly press conference at 12:30 p.m. "Lunch with Les" can be heard in the Baton Rouge area on 104.5 FM or on the internet at www.LSUsports.net/live.
