This is in no way, shape, or form a knock on Mett but I firmly believe that Rivers will be our guy. No links/sources, just a hunch. I believe that when he gets his shot he'll lead us to a national championship. He's not gonna tear up the stat sheets but he'll make all of the throws that CLM asks him to make and he's gonna take control of the offense in a way that we haven't seen since JR/MF. Bookmark this post for future reference and I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong.

Oh yeah and

1) will his receivers catch those throws
2) If they catch them, will they hold on to them?
3) Will he be playing behind a make-shift OL

If any of these three are yes, then he will perform the same way Mett is.

Never fails. The best QB at LSU is whoever the 2nd string guy is.

I'm not arguing against your prediction but what are you basing all of this on?

dont know if i agree yet, but i do think Rivers would make faster decisions with the ball. The few times i have seen him, he seems to make his reads faster.

The only thing I can think of is this.. And yes I recognize it's somewhat silly..

Phillip Rivers was one of the best college QB's I've ever seen outside of Eli Manning.. The people closest to Phillip have all said Stephen Rivers is more advanced than he was coming out. If that is the case.. then Woah! He's got the football genes and size just like the Mannings and Phillip Rivers.. so

I really have no clue tho. I still prefer a true dual threat QB at the college level now. I really think this is the standard.

I think Les might be using cardboard cutouts at this point.

According to a lot of posters, dual-threat QB's cannot pass.

in the system that clm runs i cant understand why he wouldn't recruit duel threat qbs only.if we can get one that can throw accurately it adds another dimension to an offense.if jj was an accurate passer we would have had a hell of an offense.

Even a guy like Flynn I would consider mobile. (I believe 4.5ish 40)

He is as ideal as it gets for LSU style. He had decent wheels and ran well enough in college, enough size at 6'3, accuracy, and best of all he was a gamer.. he finished games stronger than he started.

But I understand guys like this don't grow on trees.

Someone besides CLM needs to be coordinating the passing game, don't you think?

Yeah

And you've seen him in live competition against top 10 defenses right?

At this point, i could care less who the QB is, just don't cost us games and let running backs and defense win us games.

Our staff has proven that they cannot develop QB's.

Nothing really. It's just a hunch that I have.
