You can argue whether they were a big time recruit or not, a 4 star, they were not considered 5 stars or game changing recruits...but we are quibbling on the margins here. Point is these players got much better.

Jarrett Lee won some passing awards coming out of high school, he was considered to be a good QB, albeit not bit time. He got worse year over year, then got BETTER his senior year, then got WORSE again towards the end of the year. This is not a JJ/JL thread, he got worse because of bad coaching. That's the point.

He didn't play at the end of the year. Wasn't his offense, he couldn't get a rhythm. He had one bad quarter against Bama in Ttown.

He also looked pretty damn good for the Chargers in the preseason. HS stats don't show it all due to lack of competition. He was mediocre from start to finish talent wise.
