If we could get RSJ and we already have Leslie, this team could make the biggest turnaround ever as far as passing game goes. These 2 big play guys could stretch the field for us and actually make the big plays. Would be an unbelievable duo...

IF it was to happen, there is a good chance we could make some noise with a second year starter and a healthy o line! But that is a big IF!

No doubt, one can only hope!
Plus Jeryl Brazil puts it all over the top.

And Avery Johnson! If we land RSJ, this offense will get a makeover next year! Avery Johnson, Landry,OBJ, Leslie, and RSJ would be sick and downright unfair!

on paper and message board forums…. only two of them have actually stepped on a college football field, and they aren't lighting the world on fire right now, so…

yeah, i'd like to get excited about the "possibility" too, but i've learned some guys, especially with our schemes and mindset just don't fricking hack it…. see Russell Shepard as an example….

It's hard to get excited about offense period right now, but what could have been!

Unless the OC is different and Les has his headset taken away, you'll see the same offense until he leaves.

At some point there will be a breaking point and things will change! I have faith. I am probably by myself on this one because of the offensive pricy we have put on the field but at some point things have to turn around !

You blame Les and playcalling for everything. Even when it's starting to be clear that Mett just isn't as good as most people thought, probably you included. He has trouble running simple plays, even if the o line is blocking well and receivers are wide open. Rettig and Jennings are completely different qb's, who would be playing with a better o line and some bigger receiving threats.

Lee improved significantly after only one year with Krags. Maybe Mett just doesn't have what it takes. It's obvious that they have to simplify the offense for him. This might be his first year starting, but he's also a junior in his second year in a system that isn't all to complicated. Can't blame the coaches if he can't execute easy plays.

We were searching for a poster from 2011 that was worth a damn. Looks like the search continues. 5 years of ineptness at the QB position, yet it's not the coaches' fault. SMH...

What have they taken away? It's the same offense we've seen since Les has been here. Mett even ran the short side option Saturday. It's not him. It's the drops from receivers, 4 starters out on the OL, and the overall philosophy of Les Miles. Les wants to rely on his D and be ultra conservative on O. It's a formula that has won him 82 games out of 101. It's very effective obviously. LSU just is not going to be a team that slings the ball around and puts up 70 points. They're also not going to give up a ton of points with this philosophy either though.

I really think mett would be really good with big tall receivers, because he thinks the guys we have are all 6'4 or better when it comes to medium lofting and deep throws. RSJ or Leslie make that fake slant to the fade route that Landry couldn't grab vs USCe...

Based on yesterday's overthrows, we need 4 Manute Bols.

What about Desean Smith? You think he can contribute next year?

Manziel overthrew receivers when he had wind at his back too yesterday. That being said, Mett had some really bad throws yesterday and the pass 3 yards past the line is indefensible.

Absolutely, he should definitely have some balls thrown his way and could take over as the primary receiving TE. Also, he could be deadly on jumpballs in the endzone.

bullshite. Lee ran a lot of different plays last year, including the play action, which Mett has trouble with. If he can't run a play-action, what can he run? Are you really too blind or stupid to realize that even Lee and Jefferson were significantly better at running a relatively simple offense like this. Through the first 8 games this year, Mett has thrown the ball 27% more than Lee did. His biggest "attribute" before the season was his cannon arm, too bad he it's largely inaccurate. What do you expect Miles to do when he gives Mett safe plays and he still can't it done. If Mett was better, Miles would open up some plays.

This team could win a national championship with an average qb, while he doesn't even seem to be at that level.
