I love Shep. He's going to be a success at something because he is a smart, hard-working, loyal, dynamic personality.

That doesn't mean it'll be in football, though.

Shep would be good at KRs, but *not* punt returns. Your #1 job as a punt returner is to secure the ball. Shep's hands just aren't on par with OBJ or TM7 or Mo Claiborne's or any other recent LSU punt returner. More like Trindon Holliday's. And Les figured that out and took Trindon off of PR duties after too many muffs.

Shep is an asset on kick/punt coverages. He is also an asset in the passing game, but his hands are inconsistent. That's just the truth. I'm sure nobody works harder to improve on it, but with hands there is only so much technique you can apply to improve.

I like Shep on the jet sweeps and the fake sweeps. That one critical 3rd and 3 last weekend where Mett saw the pressure and adjusted the play (imo) to fake the sweep to Shep and handoff inside to Ware was a thing of beauty. Yes, it netted 4 yards, but I liked it.

To summarize, I think this is a case where Les and staff are already utilizing Shep's strengths in the best way.

And, like I said, Shep will likely wind up a big success at something... he's just that strong of an individual.
