Backfield will be too crowded next year.

He'll get a higher NFL pick if he can play a afull season with us injury free rather than going now. That play at QB was definitely something I want to see more of and we will vs. Bama

Maybe, but he needs to enter the draft for his own sake.

I agree. If not Ware, then Ford

Ware is our best back hands down. He just consistently gets yardage. Hill impressed the hell out of me last night as well

If either player was a steady back for LSU like most teams use their RB they'd be ready for the Heisman watch (if healthy). The stable we have just doesn't allow that to happen though.

It seems like Ford has been here forever. I think he's having one hell of a year, considering the circumstances.

I think if Ware continues playing at such a high level, he could leave after this year. He'll be fresh without having to carry the entire load in college. Dude is ballin this year and seems to have found his old spark. Badass.

Also, don't forget about Ya Boy Blue. If he can come back early enough and have a good combine, we could see LSU lose 3 backs to the NFL this year.

I think Ford will probably go in the later rounds though, only because I think he's rarely moved piles like the rest of the backs.

In comparison, I thought Hilliard does not consistently play low with leverage during really tough short yardage situations like we see from Ware.

As things stand we will lose Ware and Ford, and we'll return Hill, Hilliard and Blue. That isn't enough. So, if we don't sign any studs, look for McGee to move back to RB.

Ford has not been used to run down the middle often so I can't comment about that. Does he currently have the speed and ability to consistently get to the edge against NFL defenses?

Ware, Ford and Blue will be draft eligible. IMO none of them would be drafted in the first three rounds.

This is how I see it, at this time:
Ware - 6th to later rounds
Ford - UFA
Blue - UFA

I believe that in each of the last two years a record number of underclassmen declared for the NFL draft. Although most were projected as picks in the first 4 to 5 rounds, many of them had no chance of being drafted.

Might be smart, but Ridley left having a very good season. Ware's got work to do.
