The point that me and a ton of other posters made about Louisiana Tech is their fans have always been that way. It's not like they just discovered it now that they've had a great season.
I remember vividly talking to a group of "Louisiana Take" fans ~2002/2003, and they were convinced at how overrated a coach Nick Saban was and how Tech would beat LSU.

yeah i remember the same. tech fans thought lsu was over-rated, lsu led at half 49-0.
did tech fans show back up to eat their crow? of course not.
