LSU has run the ball 226 times when you take out Mettenberger's 15 sacks.

55 of those attempts occurred in the 4th quarter when LSU was leading and trying to run out the clock. So that's 171 rushing attempts (a handful of those would be scrambles for positive or no gain by the quarterback) in real game situations.

171 rushing attempts to 159 attempted pass plays. That's not exactly 50-50, but it's closer than most people on here want to portray.
