You two need to go take an Econ class. You also should actually read what I posted and listen to the full speech. You would not find a single elected democrat who still believes these things.

Rich people pay plenty in taxes...too much. Personally, I say have a flat rate tax, limit the available deductions and write-offs and cut the size of the IRS. Tax rates in the US are higher than anywhere. Businesses are people...they pay taxes, employ people, etc...give breaks to those employing people in the US and realize that when business does wells, 401k improve, investments made by ordinary folks rise in value, etc. We need to encourage and incent hiring to get more Americans to work, which is more people paying taxes.

"Effective" tax rate. He doesn't have a lower tax rate, he just has deductions he can lower his effective rate with.
