Until Mexican players consistently opt to play in Europe instead of making bank domestically in Liga MX, I'll keep my opinions. Aldo De Nigris could be a decent player for a solid Bundesliga or Ligue Un club. Instead he may never leave the millions more Mexican TV pays him to play for Monterrey against powerhouses like Jaguares de Chiapas or Atlas.
It's a different football culture south of the border. Making it to MLS isn't a capstone goal for young American players. Becoming a star for Chivas is a childhood dream for countless Mexicans.
And most Mexican stars come from affluent families. There's a lack of "real" Mexicans that make it to the show. Carlos Salcido story relays one of the few "brown" Mexicans to make it to The Three Colors.
