Leaving 3 extra blockers in the box to block 4 or 5 defenders prevents the WRs from getting one on one matchups on the down-field routes you're calling for. It doesn't require anymore explanation.

Of course you don't. You're the guy who's yelling "THROW IT MORE!!!!!!" without even addressing our serious deficiencies at WR and OL. Let's run routes that require time to develop and play right into the strength of the SC defense. GENIUS!

Wait...You're telling me that running PA and having it be CREDIBLE PA and using the middle of the field won't give us more time in the pocket? That running middle routes somehow take more time on a read than a deep out? That by slowing down the USC defense, we will somehow have less time to give routes to develop?

That by requiring them to cover the slot receiver (Landry) one-on-one that we will still have problems in the passing game?

Landry in space versus a nickel defender or linebacker is a win for us every time. The problem has been that he's had bracketed coverage and we run (at BEST) two receiver pass-plays that give the advantage back to the defense even on PA passing.
