Now that we know the super secret playbook does not exist and after watch film of Clowney on College Football Live, we better have a plan to play away from him. Damn he is good. Thoughts to beat him ? And I am sure that he would knock down the Bubble Screen !!!!

Let Copeland help LT provide protection.

That's what I've been saying let the tight end slow him down and let copeland pound his arse at speed!

Clowney is an edge player, He plays well in space. Best way to play at a guy like that is run right at him. Tight end and fullback whams. Of course SC has a bunch of other great defenders. Max Pro in the 5 step throw game. High/Lo the backers in the three step game. 4 first downs, flip the field, Every possesion ends in a kick. Doesnt take a miracle or some far fetched offense for LSU to win big ball games.

People keep talking about screens. Two things:

First, we don't throw screens.

Second,

Or, poke him in the eyes like Adam Sandler did in Waterboy.

I would have Copeland block him EVERY play. Run at him with Copeland's and Hilliard on lead plays til he's begging to come out. When we run away from him, have Turner or Collins peel back and crush him. Best him up every play.

And then what do you do about the MLB in the backfield all day?

We have guards...tackles could block down. The middle linebacker is not always the fullback's responsibility...
How about scooping with the guard while the tackle blocks down? Center blocks the MLB quite often as well.

no.

just almost always.

Especially when the MLB sees the FB running straight for the DE on every snap.

The fullback picks up the first different color shirt he sees.
My point was to punish him every play. I got a little carried away saying Copeland because he punishes...but it could be done. Actually, if we're running away, sending flow towards Clowney would probably throw the MLB off, for a play or two, lol

Y-stick, double stick, and the slant stuff, snag, sluggo. Give Jacobs a lot of looks, and Clement a few, but mostly help with Clowney.

Keep our defense on the field so that Clowney is not even a factor. Wait, we tried that against Florida and that didn't work.
