Lance Armstrong is great at transportation. Michael Phelps is great at not drowning. Bo Jackson was a great athlete.

So it's OK to break the law if no one cares about you?

Just because he chose riding a bike doesn't mean he couldn't have done something else well.

And Deion Sanders was better than Bo Jackson. Just to argue with you some more.

Lots of big names on the list of guys who testified that the doped. Basically every major American rider over the past decade other than Chris Horner

That's not an argument. I didn't say Bo Jackson was the greatest athlete, just that he was a great one. Deion was as well.

Lance was one of the best triathletes in the world before focusing on cycling. It's not like all he could do was bike, even though that would still make him a great athlete

That just means he is good at not drowning, escaping on foot, and transportation... DUH!

If he never tested positive then why is this even an issue?

Well, I will admit that him being a great triathlete puts him into the great athlete category. Him being able to do more than one thing at a really high level, and being singularly great at one of them would make him a great athlete.

If it's just for bicycling, then I will not consider him a great athlete.

1) He has tested positive in the past
2) OJ was never convicted of murder

I agree. Tygart is a cock. If they don't have the physical evidence, then I think it doesn't matter. That said, some people claim (including my physician/cycling obsessed bro) that testing can't catch all doping. Still, why bring this case this long after the fact?

One thing that mystified me was, how could the prosecutors not prove their case, but Tygart can? The theory is that Obama would look like a douche for prosecuting Lance, so they decided to punt and give their evidence to someone else.

Congrats Lance, you rode your Huffy faster than anyone else, doesn't make you a great athlete.

I challenge you to ride 100 miles on a bicycle today and tell me how you feel. Then repeat for 40 days, and tell me how you feel then.

I love people belittling cycling that have never ridden further than Burger King and back.

What does this have to do with athleticism?

too bad he is a great spokesperson for surviving cancer.

his personnel life may not be the best and now his professional life will not be either but I commend him on his battle with cancer and surviving.

Give it a try, then revisit your claim that cyclists are not great athletes.
